Thought Incognito, Rooms for Reflections, 2001

For the new Faculty of Arts-building of Linköping University, Sweden, we made an installation in two parts. The first part, “Thought Incognito”, is a social sculpture in the entry hall. The form is a permutation of a globe and a thought bubble. The bubble is white, like the unexplored areas of old maps, and the students can sit on the base of the sculpture under the bubble. The second part is a set of spherical photographs of different “Rooms for Reflection” hanging in the air throughout the building. The photos show places where a common activity is thinking: a cell, a church, a library, a toilet etc.
This commissioned project was initiated by The National Public Art Council Sweden
